AKAnoid by Hugo Mestre
The idea was doing an interactive game trought the webcam, basing on the workshop code. It calls AKAnoid, because A.K.A. it's equal to "Also Known As" and noid from Arkanoid, this is because it has many names like Bricks or Alleyway that I called AKAnoid. The main objective is to destroy all bricks to see a video of the fall of Berlin's wall.

To play the game, the user must move in front from the webcam, the position is the
same of the player's position in the game.

In that way, we have two ways of conspiracy, the first is the fact of the game is hidding something from us, the second one is our conspiracy to destroy the Berlin Wall.

Mosca workshop Interactive video webcam lab
By Hugo Mestre, Ana Moutinho and Diogo Dias

This project, developed by three students, has it’s starting point on the flight made by a fly.
Considering how this insect observes and moves in space, we built a video in which the user is invited to interact, moving – as if he was flapping away the fly – so that it can fly to another place. It’s a black and white video and has the appearance of being inserted inside a sphere with a hexagonal grid, to look like the Fly’s vision. The same applies to the unstable way the environment was filmed.
