Memória from Daniela Vasco, Maria Reis Leite e Ricardo Batista

With minds on the proposed subject "Conspire", a very personal interpretation of the act of conspiracy or corruption was created, by means of a static image of historic heritage.
In Memória, an interactive installation which takes the user to an intimate and alternative universe is proposed.
The installation is inspired on the walls of memories and walls filled with family pictures, something very typical in the XIX century and the Victorian period. It is composed by three "live pictures" — each one having the initial form of a conventional portrait — sensible to the movements and the position of the observer, which enables them to alter their form accordingly.
Two of the portraits are sensible to the interactivity level of a webcam connected to a Flash program, while the third one has only two states, triggered by a light sensor embedded in a Arduino circuit connected to a Flash program.
The role played by the public is shifted insofar as the observer is the only one who triggers the action, which utimately renders the installation dependent on the existence of a user.

Saudade workshop Interactive video webcam lab
from Daniela Vasco, Maria Reis Leite e Ricardo Batista

Saudade is an environment based on photos, which intends to exploit a nostalgic universe based in memories and icons from the portuguese culture.
The project's main purpose is to take the user to interact with this universe by means of a webcam: Whenever the ropes are touched, animations are spawned in certain room objects, thus transforming the environment.
