In addition to Google Earth, the Future Earth is a pluggin which provides series of additional functions to those already existing. Beyond that we can access any part of the world and even choose the year in which we want to do it, past or future, allowing us to travel not only in space but also in time. In function of the environmental causes, let us monitor the development of the entire planet geographic, giving us useful documentation on the area searched (% of polluted waters, % of energy consumed, species in extinction, etc.). The main objective is to associate, in a new and dynamic way, the environmental awareness to multimedia and technology development, showing that it doesn’t need necessarily to be taken as an enemy allied with pollution, but a useful tool for research and dissemination of information, to act according to of a better world.

National Geographic, [2005], “One Degree Factor”, Strange Days On Planet Earth.
Second episode of the series of documentaries Strange Days On Planet Earth, presented by the actor Edward Norton, was issued for the first time on April 20, 2005. In "One Degree Factor", is addressed the topic of global warming, as a bold, trying not to be just another of many documentaries on the subject. Focusing on the fight of some scientists around the globe, committed to unveil a series of mysteries that led to several changes in the planet, throws us a series of questions that we all would like to see answered.
Enviromental Defence Fund | Global Warming Myths and Facts Acedido a: 26/03/08
Scientific proposal of Environmental Defence Fund, which aims to raise awareness and attention to the effects of global warming, through confirmation or demystification of some myths associated with this phenomenon. What at the beggining would be a proposal targeted only the U.S. population, ends up being something useful to anyone in the world, because as its name suggests, the warming is global and concerns us all.

Not related to the topic, The Void is a site where the new media design is presenting an alternative design, animations and websites, which have several proposals of their work. The originality, objectivity and functionality are three crucial elements in this project, an alternative reference to the following phases of the project.
MTV vs Global Warming Acedido a: 26/03/08
Project alied with the MTV, set up in order to alert people to the problems posed by global warming, which proposes a series of paradoxical videos, where the nature come together in daily life of human beings in a society crtitic addressed to the environment disastre. It presents simple animations with the aim of teaching and have some effect on the spectator morale.

... SOS | Live Earth | 7.7.07 Acedido a: 26/03/08
The Live Earth consisted in a series of concerts that occurred on 07/07/07 all over the world, bringing together more than 100 artists of music and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis. It was created by Kevin Wall who formed a partnership with Al Gore and the Climate Alliance to ensure behaviour changes in consumption.
However this event was strongly refuted, even by some musical artists accusing it of being polluter and hypocritic, given the fact that it has issued approximately 31.5 tons of carbon dioxide, a number far above from what is considered "normal". Still, ahead was made to these accusations, saying that it took actions aimed at environmental preservation, including the capture of all the emissions released, because of the travel of artists and officials, besides the future neutralization of all pollutants and lessening the impact of the event in nature.
This is a complex conflict of interests that creates an opposition between the moral and ethical consumerism that is still for a greater cause, the fact is that the end does not always justify the means.
The Global Warming Test Acedido a: 26/03/08
The Global Warming Test is a little test constitued by 10 questions related to global warming and its causes and consequences. It was created by the Heartland Institute with the intention of allowing anyone to prove their knowledge of current affairs greatest threat. With a simple "click" the player answers true or false or one of the several hypotheses of multiple choice that will occur. Every answer is followed by the correction (right or wrong) and are presented several facts that justify the correct answer that should have been given against the question. At the end is added the number of correct answers and the player can see for himself the degree of knowledge that corresponds to his scores.
In addition to the exchange between the innovative technology and environmental issues is also a way of capture the interest and desire to learn more about this subject.
