Lixo T by João Miguel Rodrigues The Lixo T project is an innovative home recycling system that helps the consumer to separate his garbage. Since people don't show a single effort to recycle, mainly because they don't suffer the long term consequences directly, I decided to make an irony out of that with this project. The objective of this project is to "force" people to learn how to properly recycle the diverse types of garbage or else they get blasted with their garbage. Literally.
PHASE #1 | Research 1.1 Humoristic Greenpeace advertisement about energy efficient light bulbs that goes around the slogan Until the sun shines out of your arse, use a energy efficient light bulb. National Geographic, April 2007 – Article “Águas Mortas” (by Fen Montaigne/ photos from Randy Olson and Brian Skerry) This National Geographic article alerts us to one of the main problems of our planet's sustainability: the overexploration of the marine ecosystem. There's an eminent danger of the extinction of certain species that could lead eventually to the extinction of every single species. The captures are done at a three times superior rate than they should according to the sustainability tax. “Os oceanos defrontam-se com problemas profundamente graves. Do extremo norte do mar da Gronelândia ao turbilhão do círculo polar antárctico, andamos a esvaziar os nossos mares de peixe. É possível que, desde 1900, algumas espécies se tenham visto reduzidas em quase 90&… e a situação está a piorar.”
